Dr. Barbieri was first exposed to chiropractic at a young age, receiving his first adjustment just moments after he was born from his father, a chiropractor for over 35 years. Having a chiropractor at home helped Dr. Barbieri to recover quickly from numerous athletic injuries during his adolescence and allowed him to excel in football and lacrosse.

It wasn’t until Dr. Barbieri had the opportunity to meet a long time patient of his grandfather, who practiced chiropractic for over 60 years, that he realized the breath of the profession. She was being seen for subluxations which altered her vision and eventually caused her to lose her sight. After only a few adjustments her vision was gradually restored. Up until that time, Dr. Barbieri’s understanding of chiropractic was limited to low back pain and other aches and pains. He had no idea of the intimate relationship shared between the spine and nervous system and the role it plays in health.

Soon after, Dr. Barbieri enrolled at Pennsylvania State University where he pursued prerequisites and obtained a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology. Dr. Barbieri continued on to the University of Bridgeport College of Chiropractic where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and became the 5th member of his family to practice chiropratic.

Dr. Barbieri spent his summers growing up in Surf City, cementing a love for the beach and this community. Dr. Barbieri has worked with many people of various backgrounds ranging from youth and professional athletes, children with disabilities, working class and blue collar laborers, to retirees. Dr. Barbieri and his team at Swell Life are committed to their mission of making optimal health accessible to the entire community and empowering others to reach an optimal expression of life. In his free time, he enjoys surfing, fishing and taking advantage of the beautiful environment this area offers.
